  • Massage Therapy Base Program or equivalent in any specialty (400 hours)
  • Anatomy (45 hours)
  • Advanced Anatomy (34 hours)

Why you should take this course:

Athletes of all levels, as well as people with particularly active lifestyles, are at higher risk for injuries. Taping can promote recovery and reduce pain after an injury by providing stability and minimizing strain. This course will help you better tailor your treatments by learning to incorporate taping into your practice.

 

What you will learn:

Introduction to Taping will provide you with a general understanding of the different forms of taping, their purpose and appropriate use. You will learn about neuro-proprioceptive taping, dynamic tape and athletic taping.

 

Teaching approaches:

Introduction to Taping provides a more practical approach to learning but it will still integrate some theoretical knowledge. You will be using massage tables, provided by Lotus Palm.

About your teacher:

Danièle Speary, B.Sc. (Kin and Hon. AT), CAT(C), CSMTA(SMC)

Danièle has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McGill University. She is a certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C) and is currently completing her M.Sc. (Applied) in Physical Therapy. As a sport massage therapist, she travelled with team Canada to international events such as the FISU World University Games and Women’s Professional Hockey. Her teaching approach is very colorful with a touch of humor to facilitate everyone’s learning.
